The Position

As an Infrastructure Specialist at Excelergy, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Excelergys infrastructure either personally or through teamwork in the following functional areas: Network infrastructure, server infrastructure, back-up systems, public and private cloud infrastructure, security, data communications, internal application support, and other related service areas.

The Infrastructure Specialist will report to the Director, Technology. It is envisioned, however, that the individual in this position should have a large amount of autonomy and not require large amounts of day-to-day support. This position will include some after hours and weekend support when necessary as well as being part of a 24/7 on call rotation for after hour outages and updates.
This position has access to sensitive data, therefore the successful candidate must have a high level of accountability and adhere to Corporate Compliance and Security.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Excelergys network, servers, data communications, SAN storage, public and private cloud, telecommunications, backups, system and communication security, internal applications, and other related services.
• Cross functional support for DBAs, Developers, Release Managers, DevOps, and Client Support Teams.
• Support Cogneras Energy Application Suite of software on Citrix Presentation Farm, desktops and next generation web platforms through management of underlying security and infrastructure components.
• Work with other team members and technical staff as assigned.
• Ensure the proper maintenance, operation, and monitoring of infrastructure systems.
• Manage file structures and user/role permissions and security for all CEMS systems.
• Ensure that back-ups are performed in accordance with the CEMS policies.
• Maintain, test, and implement disaster recovery/business continuity plans as the CEMS environment continues to evolve.
• Keep abreast of industry best practices and technology and determine potential benefits for CEMS.
• Liaison with support vendors.

• 2 to 5 years of recent and increasingly responsible infrastructure experience. Exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered
• University degree or equivalent with major course work in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Ability to drive technical issues to resolution.
• Ability to troubleshoot server, network, and storage hardware problems.

• Knowledge of the following would be an asset: Microsoft Active Directory
• Knowledge of the following would be an asset: Cisco ASA Firewall and Firepower management, VMware vCenter and vSphere replication, Citrix XenApp application servers
• Experience with the following hardware would be beneficial: Dell Blade Systems, Dell Compellent Storage Systems.
