Job Description

The Division:
Retail & Sports Systems (R&SS) was founded in 2009 by industry experts with over 50 years multi-channel retail experience at leading brands including Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, Chelsea, Man United, Nike, and many more. We went live in 2010 with our first customer, Sheffield United, and have been expanding every year since.
R&SS offers true omnichannel from a single supplier you can trust — allowing businesses to get closer to their customers and drive outstanding sales growth. The results speak for themselves: one Premiership club has doubled their online orders since we installed a new retail system. We continue to add new customers whilst existing customers continue to renew their contracts with us.

The Position:
We are seeking an energetic Support Developer to join our team. The role would suit a creative self-motivated individual who is looking for the opportunity to play a significant part in our expansion and long-term future.

The Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand the features, functionality, and architecture of our product.
  • Acquire proficiency in the codebase by collaborating with the development team and studying relevant programming languages, frameworks, and libraries.
  • Shadow experienced developers to grasp debugging techniques, troubleshooting methodologies, and coding best practices.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer enquiries and technical issues, providing prompt and effective support.
  • Utilise technical expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose issues reported by customers, utilising logs, code analysis, and replication techniques.
  • Collaborate with the development team to escalate and resolve complex technical issues requiring developer intervention.
  • Document common issues, troubleshooting steps, and solutions to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for internal and customer use.
  • Gather customer feedback and collaborate with the development team to identify areas for product improvement or enhancement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to our product and customer support.
  • Adhere to support SLAs by prioritising and managing support tickets to ensure timely resolution and high levels of customer satisfaction.
The chosen individual will work out of the Contour Software Islamabad resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Desired Skills and Responsibilities:
  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years experience of developing web applications using PHP and Laravel.
  • Proficient in MySQL.
  • Comfortable working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Version Control – Git / SVN.
  • Experience with LAMP stack
  • Excellent spoken and written English is essential.
