Grosvenor Systems is the team behind Propman, one of the UK's most comprehensive and industry leading property management systems.
Founded in 1980, we developed our all-in-one property management and accounting software, to help overcome the challenges, complexities and inefficiencies of property management. We currently have over 250 customers in the UK, comprising of block managers, managing agents, owners/investors, and occupiers. The Position:
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot the tools and environment that many of the engineers rely on to deploy and monitor their applications. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth processes between the development team and operations team. The purpose of this role is to enable seamless "self-serve” production for developers, as well as monitoring, alerting, and even potentially evangelism for the platform itself.
This role would involve working on all aspects of the product, its integration abilities, technical specifications and continuous improvement with automation of processes in the organisation. This will require liaison with our development team, operations team, product manager and hands on involvement in implementation and maintenance of our continuous integration and continuous delivery for our applications. The role will engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services - Designing, building, deploying, monitoring, performance tuning and supporting clustered multi-tier applications.

The chosen individual will work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad resource center office, as an extension of the division-based R&D department.

Key Responsibilities :

• CI/CD and other automation experience.
• Design, implement and manage continuous integration, build management and deployment scripts and systems
• Drive automation of application deployment for production and pre-release environments.
• Define monitoring requirements and implement automated incident resolution solutions
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, containers, and container orchestration technologies.
• Extensive experience with cloud deployments and a DevOps team.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices including OWASP, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Work closely with operations and software engineering teams to design and implement scalable and high performance solutions for our platform as a service and internal management tools.
• Identify areas for process and efficiency improvement within Platform Services Operations; recommend solutions and assist in overseeing implementation. Actively facilitate continuous improvement.
• Ensure all necessary operational processes and procedures are carried out with a high level of attention to detail, expediency and on-time delivery.
• Define and document standard run books and operating procedures. Create and maintain system information and architecture diagrams.
• Managing a large development by splitting it into relevant components and providing technical guidance/mentoring to junior developers.
• Providing technical direction and guidance about performance, user experience and impact on product architecture in key discussions
• Debugging of key issues raised by customers, performance enhancements and develop strategies and design to improve product performance.
• Hands on development of code, scripts to support product development, maintenance, upgrades, and migrations etc. Understanding and creating database changes, involved in product release and continuous integration abilities of the software.

• Experience with configuration and change management, monitoring, and trending.
• Strong understanding HTTP protocol and experience in management of server implementations (Apache HTTPD, Lighttpd) and Windows server.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, load balancing clusters, server load balancing, firewalls
• Understanding of automation practices throughout the development, build, and deployment phases of the application life-cycle
• Demonstrated ability to support and administer high volume pre-release and production environments for internal facing applications.
• Experience with one or more Unix shell scripting languages (Bash, C-Shell, ...)
• Experience with relational databases in the area of schema design, stored procedures, and query optimization. Experience with progress openedge a plus.
• Experience with build management and continuous integration tools (Bamboo, Jenkins)
• Understanding of revision control and continuous integration best practices.
• Experience using an operational ticketing system to record changes and work history details such as JIRA, OTRS or Service Now.
• Experience with cloud services (Amazon EC2/S3, OpenStack) elastic capacity administration and cloud deployment and administration tools a plus. In-depth knowledge of the AWS platform including both IaaS and PaaS technologies
• Experience in AWS CloudFormation and AWS OpsWorks to deploy the infrastructure necessary to create development, test, and production environments for a software development project
• Experience in AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy and CodePipeline to utilise the array of options for enabling a continuous integration (CI/CD) environment on AWS
• Experience in automated testing in different stages of a CI/CD pipeline
• Direct experience of enterprise solution shaping and AWS application platform deployment architecture development including excellent documentation skills
• Experience of setting up, deploying and managing multiple environments to support agile development approaches
• Experience of using Git, GitBucket.
• It is highly desirable that you have good knowledge and understanding of the following platforms and their deployment: Knowledge of deployment orchestration and configuration management tools (Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Kubernetes).
• Experience of collaborating and knowledge transfer to mixed teams whilst delivering to agreed timelines would be highly beneficial
