The Role
We use Azure DevOps to manage our technical processes. We wish to leverage Azure DevOps to implement Continuous Integration. You will be expected to come in and play a key role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and documenting a Continuous Integration solution leveraging DevOps. As part of this, you will work closely with the R&D teams as well as the Software Deployment and IT teams to ensure we build a durable, maintainable Continuous Integration solution and that all teams adapt their processes and procedures to support Continuous Integration.
The candidate will be responsible for building and managing high-availability SaaS infrastructure in Azure using a hub-and-spoke methodology.
The successful hire will be located and work out of the Contour Software Karachi/Lahore/Islamabad office, working as part of the R&D or PS/IT DevOps team. This will require working some portion of the day that overlaps with both the existing Contour-based R&D team as well as the UK-based R&D teams.
Key Activities
- Design and Maintain Continuous Integration Capabilities
- Works with Dev Teams to create new functionality to support software changes
- Diagnosis and repair failures in CI system when necessary
- Works with QA team to integrate Automated tests into pipeline
- Create and maintain Development and QA testing environments
- Participates in Development and QA team meetings
- Provides visibility and status updates through dashboards and regular reports
- Independently learns new capabilities within the Devops system and applies them to our pipelines
- Design/Build infrastructure in Azure for our SaaS platform
- Manage the production infrastructure
- Build CI/CD capabilities for production environments
If you are someone who has:
- A proven ability in building infrastructure for SaaS application in Azure
- A proven ability in creating and maintaining HTML5/CSS/JavaScript/SQL applications within Azure DevOps infrastructure
- Ability to think through problems logically and quickly to resolve operational issues
- A desire to support a development team with all the tools they need to write, test and debug code efficiently
- Strong communication skills, ability to articulate problems to the rest of the team
- Passion for cloud technology and continuously improving your skills
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong demonstrable knowledge (preferably certified) and experience as an Azure Architect
- Strong demonstrable knowledge (preferably certified) and experience of the Azure DevOps platform
- Experience supporting complex .Net web applications on Azure and AKS
- Full understanding of AppInsights, Azure monitor and ability to understand infrastructure performance and robustness
- Experience in AAD
- Experience in SQLServer high-availability deployments
- Fully conversant with Microsoft DevOps pipelines and Git
- Understanding of Azure networking and security
- Experience in estimation and management of Azure costs
Desirable Skills and Experience (Training will be given where required)
- Experience of Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- Experience working to Agile Principles and Values
- Experience with implementing and/or maintaining Continuous Integration for HTML5/CSS/React/C# based software solutions
