Position Synopsis:
As L&D Specialist, the chosen candidate shall report to the Managing Director, and work closely with the Director HR, to drive and manage all short, medium and long-term organizational learning and development goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Annual Capstone L&D Event:
- Organize, plan and execute the annual Contour Academy and ContourU, per the MD's guidance, for invite-only participation of management and high potential staff of Contour and portfolio companies.
- Ongoing L&D - Professional Development & Knowledge Sharing Agenda:
- Utilize Karachi, Lahore & Islamabad L&D team members to coordinate and execute all L&D tasks, in collaboration with relevant administrative teams, inclusive of:
- Invitations to Contour staff to attend (onshore) group-level leadership summits,
- Invitations to Contour teams to visit their divisions onshore,
- Visits from onshore managers and colleagues to Contour,
- Inhouse Technical and Non-technical Knowledge Sharing events, including those organized by service line managers, for Contour and portfolio companies,
- Organization and execution of training and professional development activities and events as requested by staff/approved by managers from staff professional development budgets, as and when such activities require organization support.
- Organization and execution of company-wide Wellness Campaigns as well as any other common L&D Initiatives planned for all staff.
- Corporate and Portfolio-mandated L&D:
- Briefing Events led by administrative staff for org policy (HR, IT, InfoSec/Privacy,...) requirements,
- Execution of corporate-mandated security training, local emergency and evacuation training, etc.
- Industry-Wide Collaborations:
- Act as the MD's key aide for interaction with potential local partners and trade bodies, attending local meetings, reviewing RFPs etc, driving communications and deadline-oriented processes.
- HR Talent supply-side initiatives involving trade bodies, with or without government financing, and collaboration with external stakeholders & potential partners, shall be of particular focus.
- Be ready and able to act as Project/Program Manager for major projects involving important, multi-faceted stakeholders and revenue/cost and time sensitivities.
- Other tasks and projects as and when assigned.
- This role requires someone comfortable with shifting priorities and the need to move from one priority to another, based on exigence.
- The role is an opportunity to affect OD impact via L&D, to drive the organization to and through its next stages of evolution, especially as additional acquisitions become part of the local portfolio.
Team Dynamic: - While at least one direct report is anticipated for this role, at each Contour location,
- It shall involve significant ongoing collaboration with core/local as well as parent/corporate colleagues.
Success Metrics: - Contour Academy & ContourU completed in the year, and attendee survey feedback.
- Annual Employee Sat Survey scores and feedback related to professional development.
- Standard Contour 4R metrics.
Required Skills & Experience: - University degree in Business, HR, Humanities, Social Sciences or related discipline.
- L&D, OD and/or Education-related studies or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years' teaching, coaching, and practicing in a role progressing to leadership and program management, especially related to Ed-tech, continuous learning and professional development, at good organizations, ideally in the ICT sector.
- Self-driven diligence that can be relied upon to plan and execute L&D-related goals and projects holistically.
- Ability to collaborate and work with colleagues in a collegial and open atmosphere.
- Detail-orientation, perseverance, and the ability to think outside the box.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation and documentation skills.
