THE DIVISION
Vesta Merchant Services (VMS) is a division of Vesta Software Group an operating group of Constellation Software Inc . We are a small, internal, payment services company, servicing a wider portfolio of software companies, located across the UK. These companies range from market leaders in cashless payments for the Education sector as well as the Hospitality, Sports and Retail sector. Significant volumes of transactions are processed by our internal payment engine each day.

THE POSITION:
We are seeking to hire a Senior Software Developer – Team Lead with experience and expertise in developing robust and scalable solutions using the Microsoft .net technology stack to design and deliver technical solutions with an emphasis on quality, automation, and continuous integration. Working closely with the VMS R&D team in the UK to help ensure high quality and timely delivery of releases. This is an exciting time to join the company as it plans to grow its product offering into the UK marketplace.

We are looking for a positive and proactive technical leader to take on an exciting role within our busy team. Reporting to the Vesta Group CTO and working closely with the Systems Architect in the UK you will be a hands-on leader, who will collaborate with the team to ensure the effective development, support, testing and maintenance of our products.

The successful hires will be located and work out of the Contour Software Islamabad office, working as part of the resource-centre team, as an extension of the division-based R&D department in the UK

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role itself is very varied and will entail:
  • Hands-on development in an agile environment
  • Analyse software requirements to create technical and end user specifications
  • Identify impact of possible implementation options
  • Design robust and scalable solutions
  • Create and maintain automated tests (unit and others)
  • Test and review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design
  • Performance improvement and refactoring of legacy code
  • Work within deadlines in relation to product release timelines, and consistently complete assigned development tasks in required timeframes
  • Create and defend estimates and help the team do the same
  • Follow and contribute to software development processes and standards
  • Become a subject matter expert and technical lead in key nominated areas of our systems
  • To share knowledge and skills with others.
  • Highlight task level issues and risks as appropriate and assist in finding solutions.
  • Coaching and mentoring other members of the team.
  • Goal setting and performance review management for team members
  • Interface with key stakeholders in the UK
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in software application development in .net environment.
  • 2+ years' experience of team leadership
  • Software engineering-related degree
  • Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming
  • Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases
  • Excellent knowledge of modern IDEs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

    • Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentor
    • Promote best practice e.g., code reviews
    • Identifying appropriate technology and approaches in relation to .net
